JBC Mansion Dedicated to Past President

Jamestown, N.Y.   A ceremony recently marked the naming of the mansion building of Jamestown Business College as Swanson Hall, to honor past college president, Tyler C. Swanson.

Swanson, who first joined the college as a faculty member in 1968, became Dean of the college in 1973 and its president in 1982. His retirement became official on September 30, 2008.

Swanson, upon the dedication, felt great pride at the honor. “For many years, JBC has been my home,” he said.  “Some of my proudest moments have been in the accomplishments of students, faculty, and staff of the college and I am truly honored to have a building named for me.”

Current JBC President David Conklin said that the Swanson Hall dedication was a natural fit. “When I think of Tyler Swanson, I think of JBC and when I think of JBC, I think of Tyler Swanson…they are really one in the same. So, this dedication is most fitting.”
