Jamestown Business College Visits Albany in Support of TAP (Tuition Assistance Program)Jamestown, N.Y.—Representatives from Jamestown Business College, in conjunction with the Association of Proprietary Colleges, recently met with elected officials in Albany to voice support of New York State’s Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). The students and staff met with Assemblymen Andrew Goodell, Senator Catharine Young, and other state leaders to encourage their support of legislation that would not restrict TAP funding for current and future students. |
JBC Director of Marketing and Communications Jessica Golley said that the meetings were productive and were an ideal opportunity for students to observe the legislative process first-hand. “It is important for our elected officials to hear the true impact that budgetary decisions have on the educational choices of students in Jamestown and throughout the state,” she said. “Aside from that, our students got some one-on-one time with our state leaders and were able to share their stories and get a better feel for how the entire process works.” Jamestown Business College offers business-focused Associate and Bachelor degrees and certificate programs that include targeted professional development activities.
